The Adult Slalom Sessions are a technical skill development program run over 4 evenings by high performance slalom coaches and athletes.
The aim of this program is to introduce proficient Class III paddlers to the technical intricacies of slalom paddling. The framework for the course is to start getting people to think and apply really precise paddling concepts to their everyday kayaking. The main goal of the program is to give people a kick start to the season and to allow people to have tangible improvements in their technical paddling skills.
After completing this course participants can expect to have improved boat control paddling longer kayaks (whether it be Slalom or Creek boats), have a bunch of teaching points to take away and drills to continue to develop/practice on the Kananaskis River. At the completion of the 4 sessions, it is our expectation that paddlers will have noticeably improved the precision, timing, and accuracy of their kayaking.
NOTE: It is important for this program that you are very comfortable paddling and moving around in the racecourse section of the Kananaskis River. If you are not quite there yet the Kananaskis River Evenings are a good place to start to get these skills
